Career

Jones performed at NXNE,[6] The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival[7] and Red Bull Sound Select[8] in 2014 while producing for Kirko Bangz[9] on Progression V.[10] During 2015, he released two singles: Patience[11] and Blink Away[12] with Sean Price; he also performed at the Billboard Hot 100 Fest at Jones Beach Theater.[13] After being personally picked by Chuck D to open for The Hip Hop Gods Tour in Los Angeles at The Novo (formerly Club Nokia),[14] Kydd opened for The Art Of Rap Fest at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta during 2016.[15] He released Sounds in My Head 2: The Righteous Edition later that year with features from Skyzoo,[16] Yelawolf,[17] Pac Div,[18] A.Dd+,[19] Cory Kendrix, Max Frost, GLC & Tank Washington.[20] Jones performed at SXSW[21] and Austin City Limits Festival[22] in both 2018 and in 2019 with Gary Clark Jr[23] after releasing his album entitled Homecoming[24] as well as an EP with producer Insightful[25] of Soulection. He then followed that up by performing at Blues On The Green[26] during 2020[27] and 2021[28] and collaborating with the Round Rock Express to honor native Austinite and Negro league baseball legend Willie Wells and the Austin Black Senators at Dell Diamond.[29] In 2022, Kydd released his new album, Onyx D'Or[30] and was honored in his hometown of Austin, Texas by having September 1 declared Kydd Jones Day.[31]
