The president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Peru is the presiding officer in the Chamber of Deputies of Peru, given the task of directing debates in the chamber, the political control and inspection of the Executive Power.
Congress is divided into a bicameral legislature. Both presidents are elected for a renewable one-year term.

- Ramiro Prialé died on 25 February 1988.
- Jorge Lozada assumed the Presidency of the Senate after the death of Ramiro Prialé, because he was the Vice-President of the Chamber.
