Luis Valentín Ferrada Valenzuela (born 28 December 1948) is a Chilean politician and lawyer[1] who served as a deputy.

Professional career

He was born in Santiago on 28 September 1948, the son of Luis Valentín Ferrada Urzúa and María Ana de la Luz Valenzuela Briseño.[2]

He married María de la Luz Walker Vial. He is the father of eight children: Luis Valentín, María de la Luz, Diego, María de los Ángeles, Francisco, Josefina, Benjamín and Juan de Dios.[2]

He began his schooling at a public school in Abránquil and later attended a school in Maipú, Santiago, graduating from the Liceo Alemán de Santiago.[2] He subsequently entered the Catholic University of Chile Faculty of Law, graduating in 1971.[2] He qualified as a lawyer on 17 December 1973.[2]

After completing his studies, he served as professor and secretary of the Commercial Law Department at his faculty.[2]

Between 1975 and 1980, he directed the Program for the Reform of Chilean Codes and Fundamental Laws.[2]
