Main University Road
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
University Road is a major arterial thoroughfare in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, extending from Numaish Chowrangi to Malir Halt. It serves as one of the city's primary education and transport corridors, housing several of the country's most prominent academic institutions.
Originally known as Country Club Road, the thoroughfare was renamed to University Road in 1960. This change coincided with the relocation of the University of Karachi from its original congested urban site to its current 1,279-acre campus along the road. Over the subsequent decades, the road became the focal point for the city's expanding educational and research infrastructure.
