María Teresa "Mayte" Martínez Jiménez (born 17 May 1976[1] in Valladolid) is a Spanish athlete who competed predominantly in the 800 metres, with her greatest period of success between 2000 and 2010. A multiple medalist at World and European level, indoors and out, she was a member of the Spanish 4 x 400 metre relay team which won the gold medal at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almeira, Spain, her only major international championship gold medal.

Martinez reached four finals in five editions of the World Championships (she did not take part on 2003 Championships in Paris), winning the bronze medal in the 800 metres in Osaka in 2007. Indoors she achieved the same colour of medal in the 2023 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmngham.
She represented her country in both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, but was eliminated in the semi-finals on each occasion. She was unable to participate in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing due to an injury (plantar fasciitis) and while she remained competitive at elite level, reaching World and European finals in 2009 and 2010, her senior international career came to an end in the latter year at the age of 34, after the 2010 European Athletics Championships held in her home country, Spain.
