Award criteria
The medal is awarded to service members of the Armed Forces of Armenia, employees of the Ministries of Internal Affairs and National Security, the Department of Emergency Situations, and the Customs Service, as well as to other individuals, for courage displayed in defending the country, maintaining public order, and carrying out rescue operations or official duties under conditions dangerous to life.[1][2]
Recipients
The medal has been awarded by presidential decree to numerous service members of the Armed Forces, police, and other state bodies. For example, a senior police officer serving in Armenia's regions was awarded the Medal of Courage in 1998, according to a Republic of Armenia government biography, in addition to other state and departmental awards received later in his career.[3]
