@Bbb23 hmm, in checking, it looks like the tool DOES work, so perhaps this isn't actually a problem? For example try https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Xaosflux_* — xaosflux ^Talk 14:32, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

If you put in space*, you get what you did, but if you append an * without the space, which is what the instruction says, it gets hung up because apparently it doesn't stop looking for your contributions once it hits 500. Also, it doesn't work nearly as well as the way I've been doing it up until now. See here (sorry for some of the offensive usernames).--Bbb23 (talk) 15:48, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

@Xaosflux (from prev. topic): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Xaosflux_* says "Xaosflux *" is not registered on this wiki. Please check CentralAuth to see if it is registered on other wikis. Is this gadget still needed now that we've got rid of IPs, and we have other ways of searching by IP ranges? Well we haven't gotten rid of IP's, we just don't show them by default. Special:Contributions/127.0.0.1 is still a valid page. — xaosflux ^Talk 16:13, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

@Xaosflux I know that, but how's this gadget helping us there? MediaWiki already provides the option to search by /16–32 ranges, and * does not seem to be working with registered user names. Ponor (talk) 16:49, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
