Mo Nasir

Nasir was born in Yemen, emigrated to Wales^[2] and attended Duffryn High School.^[1] He fought out of the St Joseph's Amateur Boxing Club in Newport^[3] and won the 2001 Welsh Schoolboys title^[4] boxing at light-flyweight.^[5]

He represented Wales at the Four Nations Championships^[6] and was a three-time champion of Wales at light-flyweight in 2004, 2005 and 2007.^[7]

Nasir represented the 2006 Welsh team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia,^[8] where he competed in the light-flyweight division. He won the bronze medal^[9] after beating Peter Mungai Warui of Kenya, Manyo Plange of Ghana and Muhammad Nisar of Pakistan before losing to Darren Langley of England in the semi-final bout.^[10]
