Márton Lőrincz (28 October 1911 – 1 August 1969) was a Hungarian wrestler who competed in Greco-Roman wrestling. He became an Olympic champion after winning the gold medal in the men's bantamweight division at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.[1][2]

Early life
Lőrincz was born on 28 October 1911 in Corund, a settlement located in present-day Romania. He later represented Hungary in international wrestling competitions, including the 1936 Summer Olympics.[3]
Olympic career
Lőrincz competed for Hungary at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. In the men's Greco-Roman wrestling bantamweight competition, he won the gold medal, becoming an Olympic champion in the event.[4]
His victory placed him among Hungary's Olympic gold medallists in wrestling and contributed to the country's history in the sport at the Olympic Games.[4]
Death
Lőrincz died on 1 August 1969 in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, at the age of 57.[5]
