Senegalese draughts grandmaster (1966–2025)

N'Diaga Samb (August 6, 1966 – February 19, 2025) was a Senegalese[2] draughts player based in the Netherlands. He took first place at the African Championship in 2016,[3] second place at the African Championship in 1992,[4] 2006,[5] 2014,[6] 2018[7] and finished third in 2003, 2009 and 2010. He won several international tournaments and was awarded the titles of International Master (MI) in 1992 and International Grandmaster (GMI)[8] in 2000.
On February 19, 2025, Samb died while being present at the closing ceremony at a checkers tournament in the Senegalese capital Dakar.[9][10]
