In year 2021 was 943 people by ethnicity 862 as Slovak, 705 as Romani, 93 as Rusyn, 42 as Not found out, 3 as Czech and 2 as German.

For example, a student is a citizen of a village because they have permanent residence there (they lived there as a child and has parents), but most of the time he studies at a university in the city.

The vast majority of the municipality's population consists of the local Roma community. In 2019, they constituted an estimated 97% of the local population.^[8]

In year 2021 was 943 people by religion 695 from Eastern Orthodox Church, 161 from Greek Catholic Church, 46 from Roman Catholic Church, 22 from Not found out, 18 from None and 1 from Evangelical Church.

The municipality lies at an altitude of 444 metres (1,457 ft)^[2] and covers an area of 14.29 km² (5.52 sq mi) (2025).^[10]
