Sainik School Nalanda (SSNL) is one of the 33 Sainik Schools of India. It is a residential school for boys and girls. The medium of instruction is English. It was established by the Ministry of Defence (GOI) on 12 October 2003 at Nalanda. It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education and is a member of the Indian Public Schools' Conference (IPSC).

Sainik School Nalanda, inaugurated in Rajgir on 12 Oct 2003 by the Hon'ble Raksha Mantri Shri George Fernandes, is one of the thirty three Sainik Schools in started different parts of the country primarily as a boys' residential school for providing public school education under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, New Delhi.However, after the decision of BoG, from Academic Session 2021-22, girls are also inducted as cadets in the school.In fact,Bihar is the first state to have two Sainik Schools, the other one , Sainik School Gopalganj at Hathwa, was inaugurated on the same day
The school prepares students for entry into the National Defence Academy, and for other walks of life.
