Shaqra (Arabic: شقراء), is a governorate in Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia. It is located in the western part of the province within the Najd region.[1]

The governorate includes the city of Ushaiger, which is the original home of the House of Thani, the ruling family of Qatar.[2]
Education
The governorate is home to Shaqra University, a public university established in 2009. The university has contributed to the development of higher education in the governorate and serves students from Shaqra and surrounding areas.[3]
