Sichuan (Chinese: 四川, lit. '4 Rivers'; Mandarin Chinese: ㄙˋ ㄔㄨㄢ, romanized: Sìchuān; "Si-cuan" from Sichuanese) is a province of the People's Republic of China, spelled as "Szechwan" during the Imperial era, and "Szechuan" during the Republic.
