Change name to “2019 Turkish invasion of Syria”

similar to other invasions of foreign countries like the US Invasion of Iraq or the 2024 Israeli Invasion of Lebanon, this title should be 2019 Turkish Invasion of Syria.

An offensive into a foreign country is an invasion. I’m not sure why this page has a different naming convention from every other invasion entry on Wikipedia

All other Turkish operations in Syria are referred to by their Turkish name. Why should this one have a vague name? They're all under the banner of "Turkish Occupation of Syria" anyways. Are we going to start calling the Russo-Ukrainian war a Special Military Operation? Or Operation Inherent Resolve "The US invasion of North-Eastern Syria? Change name to “Operation Peace Spring“

I feel like we need to have some important consistency with all of the pages, seeing as olive branch isn’t called the “Northwest Aleppo offensive or Afrin offensive” and Euphrates shield isn’t called the Northern Aleppo Offensive” or whatever. Naming these pages by the operation is a clean way to do it and having this page as the odd one out seems unnecessary. Also “ 2019 Turkish offensive into northeastern Syria” as a title leaves out the SNA and is already too long as is. Bedandbreakfast118 (talk) 21:23, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
