Possible addition to "86 (term)"
My friend's grandmother had an interesting life, which included many years as a waitress and later as a manager of a hotel bar in Las Vegas between 1935 and 1949.
My friend said that her stories included how the mob pretty much ran major sectors of Las Vegas. Supposedly if or when you were caught stealing money from the mob that being "86ed" could mean being taken out in the desert and forced to dig your own grave.
In other words 8 miles out of town and 6 feet under.— Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2025-32058-30 (talk • contribs) 16:28, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia requires reliable sources for all additions to articles. The colorful story is interesting, but not something that can be included in the encyclopedia. Also, please be sure to sign your comments, which you do by putting four tildes ("~~~~" without the quotes) at the end of what you've written. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 04:30, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
