Double Standard Issue?
I will not take any sides here, but regarding this article, along with White pride. Why does this article take on a more positive correlation for black pride, whereas white pride is associated with Nazism? Again I am choosing no sides here, both sides have had their positive and negative movements. However, Wikipedia takes on a Neutral Point of View for any articles created, so it would only be fair to show all the factual elements within a political movement; regardless of any bias. 131.123.50.51 (talk) 20:31, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

I believe this article would benefit from a significant update. The history and cultural impact of Black pride, particularly in the United States during and after the Civil War and the Reconstruction Amendments, is not fully reflected here. I have prepared a draft plan for improving the article’s structure, sourcing, and coverage, which I will share below for community review. Here is the draft work plan I intend to follow for improving the article. Feedback from other editors is welcome before I begin making any changes. Proposal to expand and improve this articleThe current article provides a useful starting point on the subject of Black pride, but it remains very brief given the movement’s cultural, historical, and political significance. I am proposing a structured uplift that builds on the existing content while expanding areas that are currently underdeveloped or missing. Below is a draft work plan for community review. Why this mattersBlack pride has shaped identity, culture, and social movements in the United States and internationally. Its connections to the Civil Rights era, the Black Power movement, cultural expression, and political activism are widely discussed in academic literature and in public history. Expanding the article would help general readers understand not only the origins of the concept but also its long-term impact on society, activism, and cultural representation. How this proposal relates to the existing articleThe current page lays down core definitions, but the following areas are either very short or absent:
This plan aims to expand these areas using reliable secondary sources while keeping the existing content where appropriate. Draft work plan
Request for feedbackBefore making any changes to the main article, I welcome suggestions, concerns, or improvements to this draft plan from other editors. Once there is consensus or no objections after a reasonable period, I will proceed with incremental updates based on this outline. Nodocéphale (talk) 07:19, 2 December 2025 (UTC) | |
