Talk:Blasphemous Rumours / Somebody
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I always understood that "Blasphemous Rumours" was about 2 episodes of the same girl's life, not 2 different girls. The suicide attempt at 16, the "born again" moment when she hit 18, only to be jerked around by fate when she gets killed.

As I remember (having been there), the rainstorm over the Rose Bowl was a thunderstorm, the lightning making it all the more impressive given the accompaniment. GJK 20:11, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup
Removed an argument between two editors over whether it's pots and pans or screeching tires - that doesn't belong in the article. Also removed info about the song "Somebody" - that info belongs in an article about that song, not in an article about "Blasphemous Rumours". Stay on topic, kids. 72.184.121.102 (talk) 10:31, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- Reverted. This article is about the double A-side single "Blasphemous Rumours/Somebody" so info about "Somebody" rightfully belongs here. Although it is somewhat ORish, IMHO. 213.159.252.250 (talk) 23:41, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Did someone maybe re-add the info about "somebody"? What possible relevence does it have in this song's listing?--Photoactivist (talk) 20:17, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Split proposal
These two songs are independently notable an should have separate articles (Blasphemous Rumours and Somebody [Depeche Mode song]). They are not notable for the fact that they were on the same physical medium release nearly 40 years ago. (NB WP:CONTENTSPLIT). — AjaxSmack 02:46, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- yeah that should be done but im new to wikipedia and shit so idk how to do this also ignore my username i made it when i was like 12 lmao Bigchungus007 (talk) 23:57, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- I'm generally opposed to having multiple subjects sharing an article. However, the fact that this is a double A-side single seems to present problems with establishing notability. There's no question that at least one of the two songs is independently notable, but how can we prove their independent notability when all the charts only measure their joint popularity? Reading through the current article, I'm not seeing anything that establishes either song as independently notable. If you know something that does, then please, out with it. - The notability of a song does not only derive form a chart presence (WP:NMUSIC). This article has sufficient source coverage of both songs. Grouping songs by a physical format of 40 years ago is only really notable vis-à-vis a single element of notability, i.e. chart performance in a handful of countries. — AjaxSmack 00:11, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

Did Clive Richardson (the South African Cricket Player) really produce the Depeche Mode videos?
If it is the case that Clive Richardson (the one linked here is the cricket player) produced those videos, then Clive's wiki biography should be edited to state that. I think it's a different person, myself. El Cubedo (talk) 18:47, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
