Talk:Blood shift

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a colloquial term I've heard used; if anyone has a better idea what it might mean, please feel free to discard my first attempt. Ikkyu2 15:03, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

I've heard of left shift which is used to describe immature white blood cells, neutrophils in particular. It's a term used in pathology but I have not heard of it in reference to red blood cells. Left shifted red blood cells are refered to as megaloblastic (unsure of spelling). Grace 10 June 2006 Australia
