Change place of origin from Mexico to Italy. 172.250.239.208 (talk) 16:04, 22 September 2024 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but it was made in Mexico. Although it was made by an Italian immigrant, it was created in Mexico. Gaismagorm (talk) 19:53, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
Not done, changing this word in the infobox would contradict the current body text of the article, which describes Cardini inventing it while working in Mexico. --Belbury (talk) 08:12, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

Request to add wikipedia editing war sub-article

can add wikipedia editing war with link to Wikipedia:Great Edit War so that the old and new users can see how long the war lasted? Foxy Husky (talk) 10:17, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Not done, that's a joke page that claims that millions of Wikipedians died. Belbury (talk) 11:41, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
I can't believe so many people thought creating that page was worth their time and effort. Another shining example of how Wikipedia "humor" pages are painfully unfunny. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 01:52, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Speedily closing any further threads here about "the great edit war"

I would suggest that we not encourage this foolishness by even responding to it, and in future all threads about the alleged "great edit war" simply be speedily closed and/or collapsed. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 02:23, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Why is this locked? Please add a source for anchovies or put in this edit:

a green salad of romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with lemon juice (or lime juice), olive oil, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, anchovies[citation needed], garlic, Dijon mustard, Parmesan and black pepper. Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2025-34501-41 (talk) 09:37, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Not done, the inclusion of anchovies is sourced multiple times later in the article. Per WP:LEADCITE the lead section of an article doesn't always need to include source footnotes. --Belbury (talk) 09:47, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Why is there a disclaimer on the region of origin?

Why is there a disclaimer on the region of origin? These should be added only for serious things not for a fast food mexican dishe. Wikitalovin1 (talk) 18:29, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

Caesar salad is Italian.

Origin is cultural, not geographic. The Caesar salad was conceived by an Italian chef within an Italian culinary framework; Mexico was merely the location, not the source. Sandro0309 (talk) 23:16, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

@Sandro0309: Wikipedia is not a forum for general discussion. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 23:20, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
This is just a brief explanation intended to point out that labeling it as “Mexico” is incorrect.
Since the page is no more editable, i talk, in the “talk” section. Sandro0309 (talk) 03:05, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
Do you have sources that back-up your opinion on the topic? Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 03:44, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
There is no single source that can prove how a dish must be classified nationally, because this is not a historical fact but a conceptual criterion.
Reducing the origin of a dish solely to the territory where it was first assembled is an oversimplification. Cuisine is shaped by cultural background, technique, and culinary mindset not by geography alone.
The Caesar salad was conceived by an Italian chef, through Italian culinary logic, and taste balance. The fact that it was first prepared outside Italy does not automatically strip it of its Italian authorship.
Otherwise, we would have to deny the cultural origin of countless dishes created by migrants, chefs, or communities working abroad. Place of execution is not equivalent to origin of identity. Sandro0309 (talk) 05:37, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
Wikipedia follows what indepentent reliable sources say to describe information, and we don't follow original thought based on feelings, ideas, allegations or perceived facts. If no credible source supports an opinion (in this case, that the salad is Italian in origin), we cannot consider it for the article. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 07:50, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
The only source used is a location, where the dish has been assembled.
but the cook Mind, Nationality, Tastes, are not “thoughts “.
These are facts, enough for a dish to be “Italian”, as i said, geography is not as important as the hands and the nationality of the person who made the dish, Italian. Sandro0309 (talk) 23:46, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
