@Coolgurl5555: I notice there are several people called Carlos Rafael. However, I disagree that this "Portuguese-American commercial fishing businessman" should be labelled an "American fisherman". The term is too precise, given that he was born in the Azores and is a migrant to the United States. The article barely touches on his nationality, naturalization or citizenship and given that he was born on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean controlled by a European state, I think it is a stretch to use the term "American", since he was not born on the continent. As for the term "fisherman", the article is not clear on that either. He is involved in the "fishing" industry, but his business appears to be fish processing, not going to sea on a boat and catching fish. When naming an parenthetically disambiguated article the disambiguating term should be generic. To me, the word "fishing" would appear to be is suitably generic and concise to disambiguate the article. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 00:38, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- edit: just now realizing you already moved it sorry I’m fucking stupid. Makes sense to me. I’ll wait an hour or so before moving just per procedure as I doubt this is a WP:SNOWBALL. - coolgurl5555 ✈︎ (she/her) ✈︎ 00:43, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- No worries. After boldly moving the article, I have also updated the Draft redirects and disambiguation page. Also I discovered this is an orphan article, so have tagged it so. My message is intended as advice for why the change was made. If anyone wants to disagree then they can revert my move and discuss the issue, as I didn't think the name change to be controversial. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 00:56, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
