Naming - Possible renaming of the article
There seem to be several "official" names for cmd.exe
- (Windows) Command Prompt - It's the name of the Start menu shortcut, and also the name in the current documentation
- (Windows) Command Processor - This is the file description of the file itself.
- (Windows) command interpreter - What
cmd.exe /?shows as its first line of help
Maybe this article should be renamed to Command Prompt (capital P) or Windows Command Prompt? Or any of the other names? cmd.exe seems like an implementation detail (an important one, of course). GSchizas (talk) 11:52, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
