First successful disposable product
The crown cork was the first highly successful disposable product (it can be resealed but not easily).
Is this referring to the original design? Because the current one (which is pictured), can be resealed quite easily. 88.114.246.209 (talk) 04:00, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
Content copy
This diff Special:Diff/1311351244/1311406681 copied some content (I wrote) from Crown Cork & Seal Company (Baltimore). There is overlap between the cap, the company, and the and the inventor. -- GreenC 03:46, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
Controversy
There is some minor controversy over who invented the bottle cap. Discussed in a central location at Talk:William Painter (inventor). -- GreenC 17:32, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
