Talk:David Crosby

RfC on infobox image

Following suit of Pele, Jeff Beck and Angela Lansbury. Not long after their deaths, their infobox images are replaced with either a black and white portrait or a portrait of them younger/height of their career. I was wondering if the same could be applied to Crosby. Here are some options that I found.

  • Option C In my book, it's a younger Crosby and it's good in quality. Maybe Option D if the cropped version turns out good. 2601:249:8E00:420:880:88E1:7236:1B50 (talk) 20:42, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
Personally I like Option D best, but if the cropped version isn't good then C is fine alternative.

who abetted whom?

What does this mean: "the San Francisco milieu that had abetted so well on his solo album"

Is that the milieu that Crosby abetted? Or is it the milieu that abetted Crosby?

'Abet' is commonly used in the phrase 'aid and abet', usually in reference to a crime or other malfeasance. (The fine legal distinction: 'aid' is to actually help. 'Abet' is to encourage, but not aid.) It is always used in reference to two parties: A abets B. MartinRinehart (talk) 15:19, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Place of death?

It’s been a couple weeks now but still missing the location where he died (ie: city, state) 24.219.11.107 (talk) 12:48, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Fixed I have added info with sources to the article regarding his death at Santa, Inez, California, where he owned a horse ranch at which he had planned to have his funeral. Carlstak (talk) 16:36, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

RfC on Infobox Image (Again)

So I'm using a different account then I did when I replied to the original topic suggesting that Crosby's infobox image should be changed, but I've come to dislike "Option D", which is the current image featured in the infobox. Specifically, the microphone partially obscures his face. Also, I don't feel an Image from 1983 really captures the image the average person would think of when they think of Crosby. I'm going to suggest either reverting the image back to what it was before his death. Alternatively, I found this image on the commons that I personally like a lot and feel would be the all-around best option. Cropping would definitely be required but I think it's better then all the previous options. I've included a link to the image before, and I'd like to see what others think about it.

Correction of a Photo Caption

SOMEONE needs to correct the photo caption at the top of the "Acting Career" section.

I'm tired of having my corrections REVERTED for no good reasons that I can see, and secondly, I'm not experienced in editing photo CAPTIONS.

In the body of the article, the photo of Crosby is captioned "Crosby in 1995". No problem there.

But if one taps & jumps to the photos section, there is an apparent mistake. In fact, it's NOT "apparent," it's just a mistake (a typo).

The caption there is "From Baltimore, M.D. 1995". How the person who wrote this caption could let it stand without proofreading, I don't know!

Crosby is NOT in Baltimore, Medical Doctor, he's obviously in Baltimore, Maryland, 😒!

The caption should be corrected to "Crosby, Baltimore, Md., 1995," or something similar.

IMHO, the old-fashioned "Md." abbreviation is much more preferable than using the U.S.P.S. postal code, "MD". Alpine Joy (talk) 05:13, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
