Unsourced collection of random results
This article is now bloated with long lists -- largely unsouced -- of random pageant results without any indication of inherently notability. If these pageants notable in themselves, then create separate articles. I'm going to start removing these in the coming days. --ZimZalaBim talk 12:01, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- I started to clean up this article per WP:NOT and WP:NOTDIR, and Rob97dc accused me of vandalism. I reverted back to my version, but open for disucssion. --ZimZalaBim talk 01:35, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- @UALRSSR: - why did you revert without any explanation? --ZimZalaBim talk 15:06, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- You are removing all the winners and runner ups. They need to be left here. UALRSSR (talk) 16:36, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- Why do "they need to be left here"? Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate list of winners of contests. If these are notable events, then create pages for those events, and then add sourced mention of any notable winners. Your argument is not based on any policy. --ZimZalaBim talk 18:35, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- Certainly we can move the tables to the appropriate standalone articles where possible. For example, Miss Gay America table belongs at Miss Gay America and Miss Continental table belongs at Miss Continental. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:11, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
- I cut those two tables from this articles and left notes on their respective articles. But we're still left with huge amounts of unsourced lists of winners from events of questionable notability. Again, this isn't what an general article about the existence of drag pageantry is for. --ZimZalaBim talk 02:03, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- I will likely again remove the long unsourced lists of winners from the remaining pagents listed. Again, there's no indication these are even notable pageants or notable winners, and this page also isn't the place to list individual events like this. --ZimZalaBim talk 16:53, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- Done. --ZimZalaBim talk 02:57, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- And surprise surprise, a brand new account Actualdragarchivist shows up and reverts two of my cleanup actions without any comment. I'll likely revert these tomorrow. --ZimZalaBim talk 03:13, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- @ZimZalaBim I have all day to revert and restore the entry to what it was. It's obvious you have no clue as to what major drag pageants are. Actualdragarchivist (talk) 14:54, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

- @ZimZalaBim it absolutely is the place to list events and winners like this. all other pages for other contests certainly do. your reasoning is unfounded. Actualdragarchivist (talk) 14:55, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

- @ZimZalaBim Wow, looks like you have a history of removing winners and overall pageant information? Did you lose a prelim? Actualdragarchivist (talk) 14:56, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Actualdragarchivist: you seem unwilling to understand WP:NOT and WP:INDISCRIMINATE, etc. And while WP:OTHERSTUFF isn't a good argument in the first place, you can clearly note that beauty pageant, for just one example, isn't a place where we list multiple non-notable and non-sourced events with years and years of results. That's not what this encylopedia is for. --ZimZalaBim talk 15:03, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- @ZimZalaBim the events have always been sourced and are incredibly notable. That's exactly what this is encyclopedia is for, and you had no business removing it. Again, I will refer to the editing history from another user imploring you to not remove the entry for Miss Gay USOfA. I will do whatever manual edits I need to do to restore the page entry to what it was. I am glad this is public, and anyone can see the importance of restoring that information. That's what this encyclopedia is for: building and restoring knowledge, not removing it on an unfounded basis of being notable and unsourced. Actualdragarchivist (talk) 15:09, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- I implore you to recognize that this version of the article includes huge laundry lists of unsourced and non-notable content, contrary the various policies that I've detailed numerous times here. Again, you seem unwilling to regcognize that this encyclopedia project has policies in this regard. --ZimZalaBim talk 16:05, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- As you seem unwilling to reasonably address the policy issues I have raised, I've started a dispute resolution request here: Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Drag_pageantry. --ZimZalaBim talk 16:32, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- As currently written, this article could be nominated for deletion at any time. Recommend that editors interested in that not happening spend some effort on finding some good, independent WP:RS about the article subject, and edit the article using those. - This is absolutely terrible! This page was a list of lgbt history in pageantry. There is NO reason this should be erased and left with the basic information that's here now. This should be reverted back to it's original format. Richvstone (talk) 00:43, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
