Done Govvy (talk) 13:15, 6 January 2022 (UTC) - My recommendation would be to change the first paragraph in the lede. Colston was mostly known as a merchant, philanthropist, and slave trader, while he was only an MP for 3 years.
- → Edward Colston (2 November 1636 – 11 October 1721) was an English merchant and philanthropist who was involved in the Atlantic slave trade.
- We can mention the fact that he was a Tory MP in the second paragraph.
- →...He was deputy governor of the company in 1689–90. Colston was a Tory, and served as a Member of Parliament from 1710 to 1713.
- Link Spain with History of Spain (1700–1810), and Portugal with History of Portugal (1640–1777).
- I don't feel those links are needed, the names of the countries are more locational and the Spanish link doesn't seem to work as Colston died in 1721, this just seems to be an unnecessary tangent if you ask me. The Portuguese link might be okay, it's more the same era when he lived. Govvy (talk) 13:38, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- "
Colston's parents had resettled in Bristol
" – when?
- Unlink Bristol Beacon in the "
The hall was renamed as the Bristol Beacon in September 2020
" part, it is already linked in the same paragraph.

- All alright.
@Govvy: I'm putting this on hold. Ping me when this gets resolved. Cheers, --Vacant0 (talk) 21:48, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- I will promote the article to GA. It seems like edit warring has been stabilized. Further discussion regarding that can continue if needed on talk page. Vacant0 (talk) 11:29, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
