Make "1.1.1 Britain" section more accessible to readers

The "1.1.1 Britain" section was a little hard to follow as it was. I made a few edits that are about using more accessible language and providing some extra historical context I believe is necessary for those with no knowledge of English history. Nxavar (talk) 10:24, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Battle of France

Six weeks doesn"t make a months . This statment are false and fuel the francophobia and hide the retreat of Dunkirk who played a massive role in the surrender of France . 2A01:CB00:456:9C00:4C86:BAB:5A72:BAD4 (talk) 10:57, 25 December 2023 (UTC)

- Calling it the "Battle of France" makes it sound a lot better than it really was. I know that Wiki has a hyper-Eurocentric bent, but dignifying the collapse of France by calling it a "battle" is pretty offensive.
I would add - absolutely no one, anywhere, is "scared" of the French, so the word "francophobia" is certainly not appropriate. They are repellent, but not frightening. 2601:647:6480:B640:B129:CB2B:C81A:8AB3 (talk) 17:54, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

Why is the table of anti-national sentiment resisted here

In other articles on anti-such and such sentiment I see the table. But on this article it seems some people do not want it. Persian Lad (talk) 22:24, 2 December 2024 (UTC)

User:Rsk6400. Please explain.--Persian Lad (talk) 20:35, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
I'll gladly do so. If we say "Part of a series about discrimination", our readers will rightly expect that this article (or at least a substantial part of it) is about discrimination. What I see in this article is mostly about wars and about reactions to French colonialism. Saying that's "discrimination" would need reliable sources calling it so. @Rsk6400: okay, I understand your point & I don't disagree on the discrimination part. But doesn't this still come under anti-national sentiment part? Would you be willing to edit the template to make it more universal? How about if French as a people are blamed for this when only some should be held accountable? Isn't that discrimination?

Persian Lad, your indentation is a bit confusing, see WP:INDENT. I‘m not sure I understand what you are saying about the anti-national sentiment part. To avoid WP:OR, we have to follow reliable sources when deciding whether „that“ is discrimination. Rsk6400 (talk) 10:42, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

Ireland

Well .. i understand that ... yes some T-shirt whive salty joke were printed in china and sold , due to a controversial sporting event ....

But that happened in 2008 and looked to be more " comercial " than " cultural " . Remembering the 2000's was quite painfull if you got two brain-cell for think about France . 2A01:CB00:16EC:6700:870:22C7:3CBA:9ECD (talk) 12:30, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

British hate

Yo could we add like the fact that British (and possibly other nations, I only live in Britain) hate on the French like partially as a long running joke but it’s probably based on the fact that we think they were pussies in world wars by surrendering or something? ~2025-36459-62 (talk) 20:00, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
