Why?
Why did MelanieN added protection icon? Where is two coming soon 2.0 levels? Where is guide here? --Onepamop wl (talk) 18:00, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- There's far too much vandalism. False information leads to unnecessary excitement (and subsequently, disappointment) in the gaming community. The update is not out yet to the public, and the information has not been confirmed by a reliable source. Temple of the Mousy (talk) 19:53, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
Copyright problem
I have been playind around with the Earwig's Copyvio detector and I have seen that the top may be a slight reword of this (compare). I tagged the article with {{close paraphrasing}}. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 19:12, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- I can assure you that the "Are you old enough" website copied the Wikipedia article. No violation here. Temple of the Mousy (talk) 20:58, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
AfD result and additional sources
I closed the AfD for this article as keep because those arguing that it should be kept demonstrated that there was enough reliable secondary coverage. However, all of this coverage was in sources not currently cited, and so I would strongly suggest that article watchers add these sources to the article. I do not edit video-game articles, else I would do it myself. The sources are the following: 148apps, Softpedia, latinpost, and the star. Vanamonde93 (talk) 04:06, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Sweden-Based??
Robert Topala is Sweden-Based? I didn't know that, I thought that he was Finnish-Based. Can someone give me a link or something that shows that he is Sweden-Based? VortexCat123 (talk) 06:04, 8 May 2016 (UTC)

Debate
I wanted to raise the article to Mid-importance, but I think it needs some debate. 96.237.20.169 (talk) 01:27, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
I think that many other articles deserve the mid-importance more than this. This article does not draw much attention other than from GD players, and is poorly referenced. - 1.02 editor (talk) 00:34, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I would like to remove the following section in the article "geometry dash":
"See also The Impossible Game"
The impossible game is a competitor to Geometry dash. Why should Geometry dash give free advertise to it´s competitor? "The impossible game" does not have the same thing on it´s page.
Please remove the section.
Kind regards
Fan of Geometry Dash Jaqqhammer1 (talk) 04:52, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- That is absolutely ridiculous. This web page is not an advertisement, but an encyclopedia article. Its purpose is to provide information about the game, including its "competitors". Please refer to the appropriate Wikipedia guidelines before calling any edit like this "vandalism". And please remove the protection and revert the remove of the "see also" -section. 80.222.113.49 (talk) 15:09, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- It's not typical to use a See Also section in this manner. Similar games are typically included in the same categories or on a list article for games of that genre. There's nothing that makes the Impossible Game stand out as an important see also for this article, versus dozens of other running genre games. Nor does The Impossible Game have a see also back to Geometry Dash. -- ferret (talk) 15:12, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- As of April 16th, 2020, the article for The Impossible Game now has a "See Also" section which contains only one link, towards Geometry Dash. I believe it is then very fair to mention The Impossible Game back in Geometry Dash's "See Also" section, especially considering the extreme similarity between both games. (Also, Wikipedia shouldn't refrain from mentionning "competitors" solely to give a commercial advantage to a product. Wikipedia is here to inform, and shouldn't be held back just because of commercial factors.) ShivaMaria (talk) 22:44, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
GA nomination
@DashyGames: This article is no where near where it needs to be to pass a GA review. Please read over the quality assessment information at WP:VG/A and over guidelines pertaining to video game articles at WP:VG/GL. The amount of unsourced content in the article is a particularly large issue, as well as having only five sources. Much higher quality sources are available. -- ferret (talk) 12:06, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Ferret: I understand just wanted to know the specific things i needed to do to improve the article, btw a question is Metacritic a reliable source? --Dashy (message me) (my contribs) 19:29, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- @DashyGames: What you'll want to request is a Peer Review. You'll get feedback on where the article can be improved, and it is intended to help get an article in shape before attempting GA or FA. Metacritic is a reliable source, but individual reviews listed in it may not be. For a list of vetted sources that are reliable, check WP:VG/RS. Note that user scores and reviews on Metacritic are unreliable and cannot be used. -- ferret (talk) 22:23, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

I think that this article is very small, i could write more. I play GD for almost 2 years and I now more about it. I could update the article with some more info, like about every gamemode, every update, more about beta version, famous players and many other. B1rtek (talk) 16:38, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Not done: Everything in the article must be reliably sourced. In addition, much of what you have mentioned wanting to add is discourage by guidelines such as WP:VGSCOPE. This type of material is better suited for Wikia. -- ferret (talk) 16:47, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Regarding "External links"
Hi,
Can someone with authority change the webpage one is directed to when clicking on "RobTop Games Official Website" in section "External links"?
One is currently being directed to "http://geometrydash.com/" which doesn't work. The correct address is "http://www.robtopgames.com/".
Kind regards

In the sidebar of the "Geometry Dash" page, there are three mistakes: 1. The "first release" date is misspelled as "Augost 13, 2013." 2. In the "latest release" description, Geometry Dash SubZero's release date is incorrectly listed as "December 22, 2014," when the correct release date is December 21, 2017. 3. In the "latest release" description, there is an invalid link of Geometry Dash SubZero. LuckyAssassin (talk) 22:33, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

The Other Versions
There's also stuff such as "GD Ultimate" (Geometry Dash Ultimate) which is based on an ultimate version with more blocks and gives creators the potential to make more stuff on Geometry Dash while waiting for 2.2 (big update which includes multiplayer) and has an official "Discord" (a gaming platform for servers to talk to people and better than skype or teamspeak) and also has other social media.
There's also other copies, but I haven't further researched.

- I'm referring to the 'spin-offs' section at the very bottom. It mentions that both GD Meltdown and SubZero are unavailible from the Play Store but that is no longer the case. Reason : Many parts of the article are oddly specific, as in they mention information that the average reader would likely not understand or find relevant. I recommend not remove entire sections, but rather improve the wording to that it looks more friendly and understandable for an audience that doesn't already know everything about Geometry Dash.
Change this : "The beginning of Electroman Adventures, an insane difficulty official level in the game."
To this : "The beginning of Electroman Adventures, one of the many official levels in the game."
Or to this : "The beginning of Electroman Adventures, the Xth of 21 official levels in the game."
Or to this : "The beginning of Electroman Adventures, the Xth official level in the game."
Because : One who does not play or know about Geometry Dash and would like to learn more about it does not know what "insane difficulty" means, and would likely be confused about whether "insane" refers to an in-game rating or to the personal opinion of the editor who wrote the line. If the difficulty level would be kept, then there would need to be prior definition of the in-game difficulty levels, so that a reader reading that line knows how to interpret "insane difficulty" correctly.
Change this : "Other features include "map packs", secret vaults, gauntlets, featured levels, levels in the "Hall of Fame", daily levels, weekly demons, quests, creating, scores of players based on stars, creator points, and between friends, and a variety of icons and game modes."
To this : "Other features include showcases of user-made levels, a daily and weekly selection of custom levels, online leaderboards, customizable player icons and multiple game modes."
Because : An already overly long list mentions elements that means nothing to someone who doesn't already know what they are. (Many of them being between quotes shows evidence that these terms don't mean what they mean outside the context of Geometry Dash and needs further explanation. To the abverage non-GD readers, a "map pack" sounds like a collection of cartographic maps and a "weekly demon" is a creature from Hell reoccuring each week. Point is, if we want not to cunfuse the reader, these things shouldn't mentionned before being defined clearly.)
Remove completely : "The new features can be accessed through hacking into the editor, in which it can be seen that they were not finished at the time of release. Many triggers use the "Color" trigger graphics, and some do not display correctly. As of January 23, 2020, it is available on the Apple Store and the Google Play Store."
Because :
- It is not official (it's a community-driven product. It really is just a crack like another.)
- It is not relevant (oddly specific; one who wants to learn about Geometry Dash doesn't need to know the bugs in an unofficial derivative of an unreleased update, if said bug didn't have a significant impact on Geometry Dash in general)
- It isn't backed up by any source to support its relevance.
Note : I tried to find sources mentionning the GD SubZero editor leakings, but all I found is this source, which doesn't mention the leaks at all. It does mention SubZero itself though, so if it looks like a correct source to use in Wikipedia, it could help support the need to mention SubZero in the GD article.
