Lead
- Mass Effect: Revelation is missing the colon
Most Geth are of humanoid shape; however some are quadruped or aerial
--> Add a comma after "however"artificial intelligence, labor struggles and post-colonialism
--> add a comma after struggles
Concept and design
similar design principles to the ones used for other organic Mass Effect races
-- Italicize Mass EffectFor the final design the art team opted for a more mechanical approach...
-- Add a comma after designElements from earlier iterations were kept, previous designs were maintained, including the aforementioned tube-like elements
--> There is a comma splice and redundant phrasing regarding the retention of earlier design elements. "Were kept" and "were maintained" are repetitive.Narrative wise
should be hyphenatedall but than a human brain
are you sure "all but than" is the correct quote?- The use of "whilst" is British English. Since the rest of the article American English, this should be changed to "while"
Types
Technology
...allows them to connect with each other and cooperate and allocate part of their processing power...
-- The sentence uses "and" repetitively, which makes it feel like a run-on.
Culture and society
as an individual Geth program is depicted to only possess a rudimentary, animal-like intelligence
-- Should be changed to "depicted as only possessing" or "depicted as possessing only" for better encyclopedic tone....allows them to employ advanced behaviors like tactical planning, strategizing and situational analysis.
-- Add a comma after strategizingRather than acting as individuals, Geth programs share a collective mind, communicating experiences and information across their network, rather than through independent action
-- Clean up one of the uses of "rather than" so it is not used twice in such close proximity
History
The term "Geth" means "servant of the people" in the fictional Quarian language, the Quarian native tongue.
-- Stating it is in the "fictional Quarian language" and "the Quarian native tongue" is repetitive.Initially the Geth were not intended to develop true intelligence
-- Add a comma after initiallyreaching the point of inquiring whether they possessed a soul or not
-- Using "or not" is redundant when used with "whether" and should be removed.the Geth are depicted as having earned an ungrateful reputation amongst the many species
-- "ungrateful reputation" is an awkward word choice since a reputation itself cannot be ungrateful; it would be better phrased as an "unfavorable reputation" or "negative reputation"However, the Geth didn't
--> did not- Done!
The Geth, who had intended no initial harm on their creators
-- "harm on" --> "harm to"- Done!
a massive flotilla of salvaged second-hand ships of varying shapes and sizes
-- Redundant. A salvaged ship is inherently second-hand.
Appearances
Mass Effect
Saren Arterius, a rogue Turian Spectre, an intergalactic intelligence group with almost no limitations imposed on their actions.
-- It currently states that Saren himself is an "intergalactic intelligence group" rather than a member of one.
Mass Effect 2
Legion, a gestalt consciousness composed of a collective of networked artificial intelligences that serve
-- Change to "serves"decide whether to rewrite "the heretics"' code and force them to rejoin the "true Geth"
-- The punctuation in '"the heretics" code' is awkward to read. It would be smoother to rephrase this entirely (such as "the code of the 'heretics'") to avoid placing an apostrophe immediately after a double quotation mark....an advanced user interface software designed to simulate natural conversation, with Shepard ultimately faced with a decision regarding the test subject's fate
-- This is a long run-on sentence. Additionally, it relies on a clunky "with + [noun] + [participle]" trailing construction ("with Shepard ultimately faced"). It should be split into two sentences.
Mass Effect 3
Whoever Shepard may encounter then eveals that the Geth
-- eveals --> reveals- Done!
true individuals, while
-- There is an extra space after the comma- Removed the extra space!
Mass Effect: Andromeda
from three mass effect relays, a set of Reaper-built massive space installations that allow spaceships to slingshot themselves from one to another through a corridor of massless space
-- The explanation of what mass effect relays are is overly long and drags out the sentence, which distracts from the Geth (as they are the main subject of the article). The excessive details should be trimmed down significantly or removed entirely.
Untitled future Mass Effect game
- Mass Effect is missing italics
among which what appeared to be a Geth dressed in clothing could be found
-- This is a somewhat clunky and passive structure ("among which what appeared to be... could be found"). Rephrase for better flow.
Reception
...their power derived from networking thousands of artificial intelligence...
-- "artificial intelligence" should be pluralized to "intelligences" to match "thousands of"their power derived from networking thousands of artificial intelligence, endlessly debating and generally voting in favor of peaceful co-existence except when threatened
--> "...networking thousands of artificial intelligences that endlessly debate and generally vote in favor of..."- in IGN's list --> IGN{{'s}}
in the entire Mass Effect trilogy
-- Italicize Mass Effect
Analysis
Faller also compared the Geth to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein noting that, as seen in the novel
-- Need a comma after Frankensteindrawing an analogy between the choice that the player has to make to alter a species' destiny to "what settler-invader peoples did...
The analogy structure uses the wrong preposition. The phrase "between X to Y" is grammatically incorrect and should be "between X and Y" --> "destiny and "what..."Geth-Quarian relationships have also been the subject... Vanessa Erat analyzed Geth-Quarian relationships... Erat compared Geth-Quarian relationships...
-- "Geth-Quarian relationships" is used three times in three consecutive sentences making it highly repetitive- Cow Clicker's --> Cow Clicker{{'}}
- hadn't --> "had not"
GA1 Feedback & Summary Style
- As noted in the previous GA review, the Analysis section still goes much deeper than necessary. There is no need to summarize every single philosophical paper published about the species. Trim the paragraphs down to a concise, high-level summary of the critical themes rather than a dense laundry list of academic breakdowns.
Spotchecks
Ref numbers are accurate as of
- Checked refs 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 24, 27, 28, 31, 32, 35 - all passed
Other ref issues
- Many sources are missing archives
- Ref 1 for instance is marked as a dead YouTube link for some reason. It seems to work, but needs an archive.
- Refs 2, 3, 7, 10, 12, 13, and 16 are missing page numbers
- Ref 3 is missing the publication year
- Ref 4 -- Change "trade off" to 'trade off' (single quotes)
- Ref 19 does not include the site
- Replace the GameRant and Comicbook.com refs if possible with higher tier sources
- I have not been able to locate better sources. I have found a GameSpot interview with writer Mac Walters that briefly shows an internal document in which the 'Geth Frankenstein' concept can be found (weirdly the video isn't loading for me now, but it can also be found on YouTube). Should I just remove the refs? Oreun 💬Talk 12:51, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
Images
- Barring the replacement of the Game Rant and Comicbook.com references and further archiving, I believe everything has been adressed. I will do a second check just in case I accidentally forgot something.
- I have not adressed your comments on the analysis section because that phrasing is no longer in use in the new version. Oreun 💬Talk 16:40, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
