... that Grady Prestage, whose mother was called the "mother of Black political science," became the first African American on the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court since reconstruction?
Overall: Article nominated on August 20, the same day it was created. Everything on it seems good and Earwig shows no copyvio's. Hook is well-sourced and interesting but as I mentioned above it should be split. Hsnkn (talk) 16:46, 4 September 2026 (UTC)
@Hsnkn: Thanks for the review! Split into two here, my strong preference is for ALT2 which is actually about him, vs. ALT1 which is more about his mom than him:
ALT1: ... that Grady Prestage's mother was the "mother of Black political science"?
In that case I think you should organize ALT2 as the default hook and leave other as ALT1. Add them to the nom I'll pass it. Hsnkn (talk) 20:22, 4 September 2026 (UTC)
@Hsnkn: I've updated the main nomination, let me know if you have any more questions about the hook! Nomader (talk) 23:37, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
I un-crossed out the first two sources for you as they're still needed. Everything is good to go. Hsnkn (talk) 23:45, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
