European English?
What? This should be British. 80.46.115.14 (talk) 12:12, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
NOT a requested move, but a request to switch from American to Oxford spelling
Since this page has so much discussion and conflict over English dialects and spelling variations, why not switch to Oxford spelling? It seems like a reasonable compromise for this very international page, and is used in science and by international organizations. Right now, the page seems to use predominantly American English but with title. What do you think? 1101 (talk) 05:19, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
British or American spelling?
Other than grey (accepted in even US English), which dialect does this article even use? The editnotice at the top of the talk page says American English, but the tag at the top of the article says to {{use British English}}. 2604:3D08:9476:BE00:1558:7B75:A113:A172 (talk) 04:06, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- The editnotice was added before the British English template on the article page. I'm going to reasonably assume the editnotice takes precedence here in this case also considering that the article has used American spellings more often than British spellings from the beginning. The change to British English was done by an administrator here; I'm going to bring it up with them since I don't think the decision is proper. — rae5e <talk> 04:36, 12 November 2025 (UTC)

Grey → Gray – The reasons stated at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=1131555953#Requested_move_22_December_2022 and also, if the article title is in British English, then the article should be written in british English, not American. Robloxguest3 (talk)
