Hildebrando Pompeu Pinto Accioli → Hildebrando Accioly – This form is almost exclusively used in reliable English-language sources (see WP:COMMONNAME and WP:NCP). The Ngram Viewer shows zero English-language use of the forms ending in 'i' and a preference for the form without middle names. Contemporary English-language international-law literature consistently uses this form (e.g. author references in the American Journal of International Law from 1934", "1944", "1949" and "1956") as does the Journal of the International Commission of Jurists in 1961 and the European Journal of International Law in 2024. His works were published under this name, which is also retained in modern editions of his Manual de Direito Internacional Público (see here).
The forms Accioli and Acióli occur in Portuguese-language sources as orthographically normalized variants, as Brazil’s 1943 Portuguese Orthographic Form provided that proper nouns are subject to the same rules as common nouns. The Portuguese Wikipedia article is accordingly titled pt:Hildebrando Accioli; but WP:CONSISTENT: “It is not considered important for article titles on the English Wikipedia to be consistent with the titles of corresponding articles on Wikipedia in other languages.”
