Talk:History of Frisia

Regarding deletion

This page has largely been left out of other Frisian articles relating to the history of Frisia - in so much as I am unaware of many links directing to this page - whereas there are many higher quality articles that have written on the history of the early Frisian tribes, or the history of the respective areas east of the Lauwers or in North Friesland. I would argue that this article's lower quality accidentally ends up being recommended more than say specific articles on the history of Fryslân or other regions, which although may be more split on the basis of its regionality, has better citing and overall a higher quality of writing. If there was significant desire to rewrite or improve the article - though the inactivity of the Frisian portal as a whole makes that hard to gage - then I think that doing so may end up effectively recreating those very subheadings, with a lot of time and effort which has already been put elsewhere into the aforementioned other articles. We don't delete files simply because they are inactive. Neither do we delete them because the article is C-class on the content scale. Deletion is for pages where the article is not notable, or where the article is a bad fork of another. It is certainly not an uncontroversial deletion. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 07:07, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
Apologies, my inexperience in Wikipedia has obviously lead me to make a decision which was wrong in the context of the article. Thank you for explaining. That being said, as a relatively new editor, I can see that a lot of this article contains information which lacks sourcing or needs rewriting and sometimes even removing; to this end I will begin trying to make changes to improving this article - though initially this will likely be minor changes.
