I have a conflict of interest as I am affiliated with an industrial instrumentation company, so I am requesting this change on the talk page rather than editing directly.
The current lead defines hydrogen analyzers only in the context of hydrogen measurement in steels and alloys. In practice, the term "hydrogen analyzer" is widely used to describe analytical instruments for measuring hydrogen concentration in gases across many fields, including industrial process monitoring, energy and hydrogen production systems, pipelines, refineries and transportation.
- Proposed lead text:
"A hydrogen analyzer is an analytical instrument used to measure the concentration of hydrogen in gases or materials. Hydrogen analyzers are used in a wide range of applications, including industrial process monitoring, energy and hydrogen production systems, pipelines, refineries and transportation."
Once the definition is broadened, a neutral external reference explaining hydrogen measurement principles could also be added, subject to editorial discretion.
