Talk:Johnny Depp

Lead section gives one-sided impression of his defamation cases

The lead section of the article mentions that Depp won a defamation case against his ex-wife in 2022 on claims of domestic violence (Depp v. Heard), which is true, but it doesn’t mention that he also lost a separate defamation case in England in 2020 on the same issue (Depp v News Group Newspapers Ltd), in which the judge ruled that published claims of him committing domestic violence against Heard were “substantially true.” Depp’s attempt to appeal this was also denied, and the verdict in that case still stands today. His success in the 2022 lawsuit in the US does not overturn or erase the verdict in the earlier case in England as they involve separate legal systems.

For the lead section to only mention the defamation case he won on this issue, and not the one he lost, therefore makes this section of the article biased and misleading. The introduction should either mention both cases and both outcomes, or neither of them, and cover them only within the relevant sections in the body of the article. Worth noting that Amber Heard's lead section lists both the domestic abuse ruling against Depp and the difamation ruling against Heard. However, in the lead section of Depp's article, only the ruling in his favor is mentioned. ~2025-39449-26 (talk) 06:03, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for highlighting this, that is an important point. The fact that Heard's lead section does mention both cases and both outcomes strengthens the argument for this to likewise be mentioned in Depp's lead section. Operas-ballets (talk) 01:22, 21 December 2025 (UTC)

Johnny Depp’s partners

Why is Kate Moss not mentioned on his list of partners (from 1994-1998 I think it was)? ~2026-17745-99 (talk) 20:59, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
