Kellanova and Kellogg's articles

As noted on the talk page for Kellogg's, I created Kellanova and reverted the Kellogg's article to a version from September 2023. However both articles require a few changes to accurately reflect their subject matter. Stockst (talk) 14:40, 27 July 2025 (UTC)

I don't think the article split was a good idea. This seems to have basically been a cut-paste move of the entire Kellogg's article, followed by a revert of that article's edit history to render its content obsolete. There is too much overlap between the content of the Kellogg's and Kellanova articles. All of the pre-2023 history of Kellogg's is repeated in the Kellanova article even though it is already found in the Kellogg's article. The Kellogg's company didn't go out of business and cease to exist  it just split off part of itself and began using a new name while it continued operating. The Kellogg's article is written in the present tense, as if Kellogg's continues to operate. It says that "Kellogg's produces cereal and convenience foods" and its products "are manufactured and marketed in over 180 countries". If Kellogg's is treated as a past-tense entity, those statements should be in the past tense. I don't see any good reason to do that. I think Kellanova and Kellogg's should be discussed in a single unified article. Kellanova is merely a continuation of the existing Kellogg Company with a different name. The sources (and the company's own press release) call this a renamed company, not a new company. — BarrelProof (talk) 22:01, 26 September 2025 (UTC)
