I loved the song "I Beg Your Pardon" although I don't really like any other Canadian groups. I just bought the song from iTunes. I hope these guys can buy a Molson with the proceeds. Great song.

The Youtube url for the "Pardon" video is fine with me, but shouldn't it be listed as what it is?

Shouldn't this page make reference to KK's use of the KLF's "The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)"?

Smells of autobiography. How does a band / song that most people have never heard of have so much information. Most people didn't/still dont know who Kon Kan was or is. When you are producing you might as well be dust, as no one knows who you are, or what you have done, much less to have such a large write up.Starbwoy (talk) 22:21, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Summarize Timeline Fact Check

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

I am Bryan E. Harris and I have a personal/family connection to Barry Harris/Kon Kan. I previously posted a COI edit request asking for independent review of proposed updates to the article.

I have since made the related article updates directly, including changes connected to the 2013–present section, 2024 Brazil touring activity, 2026 releases, discography information, and the new vocal contributors material.

I understand that, as a connected contributor, it would have been better to wait for independent review before making the edits directly. I am posting this follow-up so the changes are clearly disclosed and so independent editors can review them for neutrality, sourcing, balance, article placement, and citation formatting.

I am not asking to remove sourced material, and I am not trying to prevent other editors from improving, trimming, moving, revising, or challenging any of the additions. I would appreciate independent review of the live changes, especially the following:

1. Whether the subsection titles are appropriate.

2. Whether the December 2024 Brazil tour sentence is neutral, properly placed, and sufficiently sourced.

3. Whether the 2026 release sentence is neutral, concise, and supported by acceptable release sources.

4. Whether Barry Harris' Kon Kan (2026) should remain in the Albums list in the Discography section.

5. Whether the “Vocal contributors” subsection is appropriate for the article, or whether it should be shortened, moved, split, converted to prose, or removed if editors feel it gives too much weight to credits.

6. Whether the vocal contributors table clearly distinguishes credited lead, featured, background, sampled, rap, narrator, and session vocal contributors without implying that all listed contributors were members of Kon Kan.

7. Whether the internal links used for contributors with existing Wikipedia articles are appropriate.

8. Whether any sources used in the vocal contributors table should be replaced with stronger release-credit sources.

9. Whether the existing more-citations-needed tag should remain after the recent inline citation and source cleanup.

10. Whether the official website should remain listed in both the infobox and the External links section.

I am happy for independent editors to revise, shorten, trim, reformat, move, or decline any part of the live edits if needed for neutrality, sourcing, article balance, or Wikipedia style. Since this is a request for advice and not really a request to implement a specific change, I'm going to turn the request template off. As far as article advice goes:

1. The vocal contributors table ought to include only those artists who are independently notable in Wikipedia, meaning, they have their own Wikipedia page. Everything else in that table should be deleted.
2. The awards table at the very bottom needs to link the name Juno award, I know that the junos are independently notable and it's linked in the lead section, but it ought to be linked again in the table.
3. Is the purpose of the singles table to list every single that charted, or to just list every single? Every table has its own raison d'être, its reason for being, and when tables focus on doing that one thing, they tend to do it well. Tables that try to do two things at once is a recipe for disaster. The singles table looks bloated, as if it's trying to do two things at once, but not doing either of those things very well. It needs to refocus on one thing.
4. As far as the article's references goes, this should be your number one concern. By my rough count, nearly 40% of all the ref notes used in the article are to the subject's own website. That is a huge number, and it really puts the article at a disadvantage, as the article certainly merits having a {{third party}} maintenance template applied to it (those are placed at the top of the article). So any sources that are not connected to the subject of the article, those need to be found and substituted for the present subject-owned sources. That should be a priority.
5. Discogs is an unacceptable source to use, so it is good that those were deleted.
6. As far as having the subject's website listed in both the External links section and the Infobox, that is how it's supposed to be.
7. New posts on the talk page always go at the bottom of the page, never at the top of the page. Hope all of this helps.
