Independent Catholicism

As the independent protestants and orthodox or their equivalent are grouped under the main headings, why are Independent Catholic in a separate groups? Shouldn't they be under Catholicism? There are more similiarities that differences with these groups. Coquidragon (talk) 04:45, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

I suggest they should not, as it is now. The Catholic Church is different because of its structure and hierarchy, with the Pope on top. --Checco (talk) 19:48, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Yeah it would be off to do that because what people call "catholic" is a known communion. The same way "eastern Orthodox" or others are and as a church is already almost 50%. And in reality, in terms of practice and doctrine, independent Catholics are very different. The Palmarian Catholic Church for instance has way less in common with any of the churches within the Catholic Church communion then those churches do with Anglicans or Orthodox, or most protestants for that matter. It is also important to note that Orthodox and Anglican, and many protestant churches also will call themselves "Catholic", and Anglicans and Orthodox also split from the Catholic church, or as they believe the Catholics split from them. If you consider independent catholic to be within the catholic subheading your blurring the lines where it doesn't need to be. Gealagila (talk) 04:38, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

Should Protestant and Non-denominational be seperated?

Protestant (23.8%) And Independent (15.5%) they are separated on the chart should they be categorized as different groupings? Doremon764 (talk) 21:14, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Is there a reason the Evangelical Lutheran Church In Canada is not mentioned in the list of Lutheran Churches?

Title pretty much says it all, their numbers are significant enough to warrant mentioning imo 2604:3D09:A17F:7400:47CE:23D8:1FD9:DAEA (talk) 18:00, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Pie Chart is misleading

Combining Eastern and Oriental Orthodox in the Pie Chart is misleading. They are totally separate entities with majaor theological differences. Protestants and Catholics agree more than Eastern Orthodox (formally Orthodox Catholic) do with Oriental Orthodox. Roman Catholic is also closer to Orthodox Catholic than to Oriental Orthodox. Very misleading and should be separated. Oriental Orthodox are also Miaphysites. If they are going to stay together in this pie chart, then also combine Protestant and Catholics together as "Western Christianity" since that makes even more sense to do then keeping Eastern and Oriental together. Insanity, really. Neptino (talk) 15:17, 8 October 2025 (UTC)

Sure, but we only have combined data. --Checco (talk) 05:40, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
