- A search for references found it is named area, but the only official usage of the name on local government pages is http://stca.tas.gov.au/weeds/

- No, it is an official locality, see List of localities in Tasmania and here and is notable even though pretty miserable at present (Crusoe8181 (talk) 02:13, 2 February 2011 (UTC)).
