| Please use this capitalization: Macdonald (lowercase "d") The capitalization of Norm Macdonald's surname has been inconsistently reported in publications such as TVGuide, but books discussing Norm such as Shales (2003) and Crawford (2000) and his current business interests, the Game Show Network , Comedy Central Sports Show with Norm Macdonald and his comedy CD all consistently use Macdonald (lowercase "d"). Filmography section
@~2025-41509-84 On three separate occasions, you have changed the title of the Filmography section to As performer, which is inconsistent with how pages about actors/actresses are displayed. To resolve this dispute, I have separated Discography into its own section. Assadzadeh (talk) 17:54, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- You could have done that in the first place instead of edit warring and hounding me. ~2025-41509-84 (talk) 22:20, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- And you also could have started a conversation here instead of edit warring with other editors. Also, based on your edit history, it seems that you have gotten into the habit of edit warring with others. So, per WP:HOUNDING "Correct use of an editor's history includes (but is not limited to) fixing unambiguous errors or violations of Wikipedia policy..." and edit warring is definitely a WP policy. - First, I was the original revert in the BRD cycle. You can't just restore the edit. You have to go to the talk page. That's the policy. Second, there are many examples of hounding. Here there was no policy violation. The original edit was reverted for tone. I changed the tone. So it was hounding. There was no policy violation here , just a question of sourcing. So it was hounding. There was no policy violation here , just hounding. ~2025-41509-84 (talk) 00:51, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

Ethnicity and sexuality
Regarding statements about his ethnicity, the article says he has described himself as "half-Scottish and half-Irish".
In addition to that he has told that his parents were Polish but they took the name MacDonald to avoid all the Polish jokes.
And he has also described himself that he is 3/4 gypsy.
Sexuality
In the last years he came out as a homosexual. To be more precise, a deeply closeted gay man. He came out of the closet on Larry King's show and on Conan O'Brien's show so it's public record and should be stated in the article. ~2026-72257-8 (talk) 10:38, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- YouTube links are useless. Come back when you have links we can actually use, and which are worthy of our attention. Marcus Markup (talk) 13:26, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- No I won't be coming back and if you can't take what the man himself said, it is not I who needs to reconsider my approach. ~2026-72257-8 (talk) 14:11, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- It is not a matter of me being able to "take" what anyone said. Whatever is said on YouTube does not warrant being "taken" at all on Wikipedia except under limited circumstances... circumstances which have not been invoked here. WP:YOUTUBE Marcus Markup (talk) 14:35, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- The man - shockingly - was a comedian, who particularly enjoyed testing and pushing the limits. It was a joke. A great joke. He was messing with both King and O'Brien - and the audience. Methinks anon user may not understand the nuances of the joke. But no matter, they won't be back, so we'll take their word for it, just like we take Norm's word for it in a joke! cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 01:21, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
