Talk:Opinion polling for the 2026 Israeli legislative election

The 17-18 May Maariv poll included NEP at 2,1%, for which a whole new column was created. This has happened before in a Maariv poll, when a 29-30 April poll included Tzomet, which also resulted in the creation of a whole new column. The Tzomet column was later removed to reduce clutter. I believe the same should happen to the NEP column, and both 28-29 April and 17-18 May polls should have a footnote that the poll also included NEP/Tzomet instead of a separate column, and that should be the case whenever a minor party appears in only one poll and doesn't pass the threshold. I moved most of the small polls to footnotes. I wasn't sure how to handle the polls that list parties at zero, so I left them as they are; I'll take a look at the sources later and try to figure those out. David O. Johnson (talk) 16:23, 24 July 2026 (UTC)

I see the purpose. I reverted my edit removing them. I'm pretty sure there's wikicode to reproduce wikicode from another article [so you don't have to manually add them], but I don't remember the exact code right now. I think it mentions "section"? David O. Johnson (talk) 20:53, 15 July 2026 (UTC)

The last poll from Channel 13 conducted by Maagar Mochot was on the 25th of May. Since then, the polls are conducted by Midgam, Stat-Net, Askararia and Madad. But on this wiki page, all polls from Channel 13 since then have Maagar Mochot as their polling firm. I'm working on fixing it right now, but we should be careful to avoid mistakes like this in the future.

What should we put in the "polling firm" column? For now it's just Midgam, because in the past, Channel 13 polls were conducted by Maagar Mochot in collaboration with Stat-Net, but only Maagar Mochot was listed. PuntoQingdao (talk) 10:48, 22 July 2026 (UTC)

I provisionally moved it to Likud B but i think it would be best to move it to the main table. It only consists of JL & RZP+Otzma reunifactions. Joint List scenarios are there and 2022–2023 opinion polling for the 2026 Israeli legislative election also shows Otzma+RZP in the main table. I think it should stay as a scenario poll. Otzma+RZP is included in 2022-2023 because they ran together in the election, and there was reason to assume they would do the same again. Since then, the relations between Otzma and RZP have deteriorated and it's unlikely they'll run together. I also didn't really saw any reporting about Otzma and RZP negotiating a union, while Hadash, Ta'al and Balad are. The same goes for Meretz-Labour.

If it was only the Joint List, it could go into the main table, but Otzma+RZP is too much.

We can add them and I don't think splitting the table is needed.
