GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)

1. It is reasonably well written.

   Lead and layout, etc follow manual of style. However, sections discuss his activities in the present tense when they should be in the past tense, for example the first paragraph in Religious Work. Please update. In addition, there are lines like "Ordained many number of", "Appointed to Metropolitan", "Had oversaw control of", "Correspondence... show", "the song was sung in the assyrian orphanage" (which?) - mind fixing them?

2. It is factually accurate and verifiable, as shown by a source spot-check.

   The reference section is there and present, but is missing page numbers at spots. The further reading section is out of order. Also, please swap from citing Academia.edu to citing the actual publication. Also also, when did this guy die? No signs of copyvio or anything like that to either me or Earwig. In line citations are there and effective.

Spot check turned up some weird issues - when did this guy die? Infobox says 1969, text says 1965 - support doesn't clearly state. Also, the quote is inaccurate - it should be “I’m afraid that the pen will fall out of my hand and I won’t be able to write anymore."

1. It is broad in its coverage.

   Occasionally slightly slips - for example do we need to know where Abed Mshiho Neman was from? In general, pretty good, tho, in terms of keeping stability.

2. It follows the neutral point of view policy.

   Fair representation without bias:

   Some of the lines feel excessively flattering without crediting them to the relevant historians, for example missionary-minded man, where the faithful had lost their clergy etc (said by?), prominent writers and luminaries (said by?), one of the great Assyrians (said by which historian), etc etc.

3. It is stable.

   No edit wars, etc.:

   Rarely edited. One rollback in the last 10 years. Therefore, no serious concerns about edit wars or any stability issues.

4. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.

   The three images are public domain and are appropriately captioned. They're effectively used, as well.

Further readings should be ordered alphabetically, generally. In particular i'm looking at Global Medieval Source Book - which is also weird because when I check it it goes to an error - please add in an archived version if possible. Jishara (talk) 17:38, 13 July 2026 (UTC)

Jishara, my bad, I was thinking of the "External links" section; "Further reading" has now been alphabeticized. Here are some other points as I went through the review:

• In the source "Sayfo – An Account of the Assyrian Genocide", the authors write Abed Mshiho Neman of Qarabash was born in 1903 in the village of Qarabash (from which stems his regional name, Qarabashi). Because this is the surname he is known by, it is relevant to include it when mentioning him.
• I could only change one Academia link, and it was to ResearchGate. I'm not sure what the issue is with having the links as I am not citing Academia, but rather the articles.
• I archived the Global Medieval Source book, but it does not require any page numbers as it is an online source. Are there any other page numbers missing on any source?
• No idea how the text ended up saying Dolabani died in 1965. Fixed and cited, it is for certain that he passed in '69.
• Past tense issues and other things about the text mentioned above should be fixed now.

- for Abed, it's fine to list his name, but where he's from is generally irrelevant to this unless there's a tie in to Dolabani - since there doesn't seem to be any connection there I feel that where Abed was from should be left off of Dolabani's biography

- Thanks for archiving GMS, i think that was the only page number missing.

- Thanks for fixing other stuff - I will take a look later and let you know if there's anything missing.

- Generally it's ideal to cite the journal rather than Academia - it's okay to link to it, tho. The one that's now ResearchGate does appear to be missing the journal name, tho unless I'm missing something.
