I'm sorry it's in Japanese but it says "please wait a bit longer" in reference to the Japanese release. Requesting that "The game was officially released in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan on July 6, 2016." have "and Japan" removed from the Development section, as well as from the Release Date section. The game has yet to be released in Japan. As can be seen on the official website^[1]. For those unable to understand Japanese, the site states "配信開始日:2016年予定" which translates to "Release Date: 2016 [expectation]." Relying on English-centered news articles such as Eurogamer's US news editor for this information seems a bit foolish, considering the country we are looking at.

The Go Plus is designed to allow a more "heads-up" gaming experience than Ingress. The player can be alerted to a nearby Pokémon by the Go Plus vibrating, press its button in a coded sequence to capture the Pokémon and check the app later to find out what they've captured.^[1]

It’s a nice way to take a step in the mobile ecosystem for them. That came out of two influences. One was a learning from Ingress. We wanted to give people a way to play the game where you didn’t necessarily have to take your phone out and interact with the UX. Part of the idea of the game is, you’re outside and you can see beautiful things. If you’re always staring at your phone, you’re not seeing the world around you.

We had brainstormed this idea. Why not have a little device that buzzes when you’re near something important? You can interact with it in some subtle way, and then later on you can open up your app or your tablet and you see, “Oh, I got this or did that.” That was one of the influences.

The other was, imagine that a parent is playing with a kid and they want to give the kid a device to interact with rather than handing over the phone. I’m often handing my phone to my kid, because he’s bored or whatever. But the idea is you can give them the Pokémon Go Plus device. It vibrates and flashes when you’re near Pokémon. When they press a button in a certain sequence they capture it. Then, later on, you can look at it together on your phone or tablet.

Perhaps would be interesting to add a mention to the increment in the Nintendo shares after the game was launched, last friday was 10%^[1], and today, monday 11 of July are up to 20%, the best numbers since 1983. ^[2][3]

Change the reference to choosing an avatar's 'gender' to choosing an avatar's 'style'. This is the term used in the game and is likely a deliberate decision to allow players to choose a masculine or feminine looking avatar regardless of the player's/avatar's gender.

This article is missing information regarding release dates outside the US/NZ/AU. If none have been announced, then we should say so. Lots of people are unaware that the game is, for example, not available in Canada or the UK yet. I've already seen the game compared to Hulu by some (the streaming service that is only available in the US).

These are all wiki entries with each point documented and referenced. This is the basis for the current controversy over the potential CIA ties to the Pokemon Go application/game. The CIA is documented, on wiki and cited appropriately, as selling shares of Keyhole to Google, John Hanke left and started Niantic. A quick search of "pokemon go cia" on facebook will populate with thousands and thousands of posts discussing the connection a quick Google search for 'pokemon go cia' brings up several results in the 'news' category as well as 'About 6,290,000 results (0.78 seconds)'. The Darwin Police Station became a pilgrimage point for a Sandshrew and pokeballs, and so they had to remind people that they didn't actually have to enter the station to try to catch it. I've started to expand the reception section and I have a few ideas for others if they wish to help:

• Talk about the battery problems.
• More overall coverage on the gameplay aspects. This includes both positive and negative press. See the second paragraph in the section for where this should be added. (Check out Metacritic for more reviews)
• Spotify sentence could be expanded. Why did it jump in popularity? What songs were influenced the most? etc.
• More notable websites have talked about the exercise benefits of this game. Maybe go into more detail?
• That reception table needs an expansion. It's recommended to not put review scores into the prose if that template is there, so may as well make use of it.

I propose that there should be a new section relating to the positive impact that the game has overall. For example, CNN reported that a suspect was caught as a result of two marines playing the game. • There seems to be no obvious reason why this particular study is chosen at random as a place filler for an entire field of neuroscience. Maybe there would be a better argument if it were actually study on exercise and mental health related to video games (maybe DDR?).
• The study itself is a particularly bad one for what it's trying to be shoehorned into. It's a study of mice, the mice are "runner" mice put in cold water, and it's a highly technical analysis of neurochemistry that basically no readers are going to understand. It's an analysis of mechanism and not cause/effect, and the study itself says in its conclusions that there is an issue with similar studies finding contradictory effects: that runner mice actually exhibit increased stress.

I'd be fine with including the quote from the article actually about the game. Attributed to Ben Michaelis:

I think that this feedback holds promise for other game makers to take note about possible benefits of their games."

To take some sources that call this a form of exercise, and then use scholarly research on exercise per se to therefore say that there is scientific support that this game will have a definite beneficial outcome feels very WP:SYNTH. We cannot say in WP's voice that this game will have positive mental or physical health outcomes, which is what the current wording strongly implies. Players of Pokemon GO in China have bought IDs for the Australian Apple Store, used a virtual private network to use Google services, and used a GPS spoofer because there are no Pokemon to catch in China. Pokemon Go never had access to drive/gmail/calendar/etc; was a display bug. The quote is taken out of context too.

We recently discovered that the Pokémon GO account creation process on iOS erroneously requests full access permission for the user’s Google account. However, Pokémon GO only accesses basic Google profile information (specifically, your User ID and email address) and no other Google account information is or has been accessed or collected. Once we became aware of this error, we began working on a client-side fix to request permission for only basic Google profile information, in line with the data that we actually access. Google has verified that no other information has been received or accessed by Pokémon GO or Niantic. Google will soon reduce Pokémon GO’s permission to only the basic profile data that Pokémon GO needs, and users do not need to take any actions themselves.

I just noticed an inaccuracy. The publisher of Pokémon GO is inaccurately stated as "The Pokémon Company". Per Google Play Store (Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nianticlabs.pokemongo&hl=en) where it says: "Offered by Niantic, Inc." and iTunes App Store (Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pokemon-go/id1094591345?mt=8) where it says "Seller: Niantic, Inc. it seems like the Publisher should be Niantic. Can you please make this correction and link the Niantic, Inc. Wikipedia page (Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niantic,_Inc.)?

Just wanted to ensure the proper company got the publisher credit. :)
