Article assessment
This article was erroneously created as a GA-Class Biography Arts and Entertainment article. First, note that there are only 531 GA A&E articles in all of Wikipedia, across the range of importance from Top to Low. To be a Good Article of any importance, nomination followed by a successful assessment review is required.
I have re-assessed this article as Start class Arts and Entertainment Work Group BLP, using the WikiProject Biography class criteria.
- Requirements and status for WikiProject Biography Start class
Done a meaningful amount of good content
Done a useful picture
Done subheadings to which more material could be added
Done multiple links that help explain why the subject of the BLP is notable
Done references: bare links fixed
For consideration as C class:
- fix citation needed for career transition paragraph
- add biographical info about early years (e.g. family), education, and expand with more detail about how he became a leading collector
- substantial content improvement: expand with more detailed development of art collecting career, progression over time, challenges, resolutions
Priority - Low importance: Subject is notable in their main discipline.--FeralOink (talk) 19:39, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
Details in lead about celebrity clients
Please see this edit by me removing unsourced content as well as sourced content that merely lists celebrity clients . As I stated in my edit summary, there may be some useful content and context from the cited sources, but the list of supposed clients does not seem WP:DUE. In addition, any of this content should first be included in the body and then summarized in the lead as per WP:LEAD. Pinging Meeeems, a single-purpose account who created this page and has been restoring this information, so that they will hopefully engage in the discussion here. – notwally (talk) 02:10, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi - notwally, I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the subject you are very keen on editing - is being knowledgable in an area equated to being called a single-purpose account? I did create this page, proudly, and am very ardent about showcasing the unique life story of someone I look up to. Please let me know if there is a better way to showcase someone's rise without a college degree to being a celebrity art advisor without naming any of the celebrities and not being allowed to use proper citations. I also encourage you to head over to Fashion stylists to see how other individuals known for working with celebrities and how their pages have, as you said, "name-dropped". Please stop vandalizing the page by omitting cited facts that are central to the person's public-facing identity.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Meeeems (talk • contribs) 03:19, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- I encourage you to read the actual policies for editing here, as well as what vandalism means, as well as the requirements for WP:AGF and WP:NPA, as making baseless accusations of vandalism is considered a personal attack. Also, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not a convincing argument for whether or not to include content. You are a single-purpose account because you have almost exclusively edited this page.
- As for your recent edits to the page, I think they are an improvement, and thank you for not restoring the prior unsourced content. I slightly edited the lead sentence you had added. – notwally (talk) 23:35, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi - notwally, apologies for what seemed to be a personal attack - I had looked to other articles for formatting; I see your point about WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. I appreciate your help editing this article. I would like to, when I find the time, eventually make the article a C Class biography and welcome your feedback and critiques for that.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Meeeems (talk • contribs) 16:46, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- No worries, Meeeems. I understand that editing here can sometimes be frustrating, especially when learning about all the policies and practices here. There are certainly many ways I can improve how I interact as well. I will try to go through some of the sources in the future and add additional information to expand the page as I think several of the sources you have added have additional useful content that could be included. As a side note, when you comment on talk pages, you should use ~~~~ to sign your comments. You can also use colons to indent your comments (or asterisks to create a bullet point). – notwally (talk) 20:47, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi notwally happy holidays! Thanks for your help converting the list of movie posters to a paragraph (with what I believe was information you added). Wondering if I can add anything about the Cultured column? I know you have taken it off a few times because it read as promotional (apologies for that! Thank you as well for helping clean the page up); can anything be mentioned about his new career writing? I can't find any more articles he has written - but the Cultured magazine articles are all there! Kind regards ~~~~ Meeeems
