Edibility

The Sedum reflexum species has a slightly astringent sour taste; in Europe (and United Kingdom) it is used in salads and eaten as a vegetable occasionally.

Sedum album?

Sedum Angelina

Usually I am able to find a lot of species, common and uncommon on wikipedia. I have a species of
sedum that I have identified (by multiple sources), to be Sedum Angelina. This species is not confirmed by
wikipedia, only because the species is NOT listed. Sedum Angelina should be added by someone with a lot

link to × Cremnosedum

Would it make sense to link × Cremnosedum here, as that is a hybrid genus produced from crossing Sedum and Cremnophila (plant)? This may need an extra sentence regarding possible hybrids. Talgorey (talk) 14:02, 19 September 2024 (UTC)

Taxonomic nonsense

This article and Sempervivoideae both claim that the genus Sedum is spread over multiple higher-rank taxa. The author seems to think of this as a matter-of-fact, uncontroversial and unproblematic statement.

This is total hogwash. Such an arrangement breaks tree-based taxonomy on a fundamental, topological level, and I find it very hard to believe that a professional taxonomist would put such a statement into writing. Hence, it is extremely unlikely (barring gross misinterpretation) these statements are backed by credible material. ~2026-11614-51 (talk) 18:24, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
