Requested copy edit completed
Editors who may have worked on this article and others interested: I've just completed the requested copy edit of the article that was made to the Guild of Copy Editors. Here are some of the main things I'd like to bring to your attention about what I did in the copy edit, and I'll be happy to engage in discussion about anything else I did with the article, and why, if you ask here on this page.
1. I had to pay special attention to consistency of format—which is why, after noticing that the article had been punctuated in British English format, I not only corrected spelling deviations from it but also posted a template asking that this be the format for future editing work. I also corrected formatting of Chinese name (multiple occurrences of a name should repeat what to Westerners would seem the first name ). As there were three occurrences of people with the surname WANG, however, I left both names for ease of differentiation.
2. Another common task for me in the article was trying to figure out what was meant. The article now has quite a few "clarify" tags, both from me and previous editors. In some instances, I could see what must have been intended and so I made changes accordingly; but that wasn't always possible, thus the reason for all the tags requesting attention to clarity. To take this article to a higher level will require much attention to this issue, but would be worth the effort, as the article has much potential.
