Hey! I will review this within the next week :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 19:51, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
Review:
Hey, well done for your hard work! I cannot see any major issues - everything (except 2 things that I mentioned below) is sourced, the sources provided are reliable, Earwig shows no issues, it does not seem unneutral and it is stable with no edit wars. I have made a few minor changes. Here are my comments:
Lead - this looks good but there are a few issues that I will mention in the production section.
Plot:
- This looks very good, well done!
- "takes pictures of them kissing" - Who does? Jordana?
- I think "an old flame" is a bit informal, could this be reworded?
- "charting the dimmer switch in their bedroom" - I am a bit confused by what this means? Could it be reworded slightly?
- "witnesses her father break down" - Could you please clarify this? (e.g. "witnesses her father break down emotionally because of...")
- "temporarily cuts off contact with her" - Could you clarify whether he tells her that he is temporarily cutting off contact or if he just disappears from her life?
- "Returning home, Graham drops an intoxicated Oliver on his doorstep and leaves" - I think this is missing something - does he find Oliver first and then drops him off?
- Can you please say who Chips and soap opera star are? Since they are mentioned elsewhere.
Cast: This section is completed unsourced. Could you please include a source to verify it? It could or perhaps?
Production:
- The most important bit - the lead includes "written and directed by Richard Ayoade in his feature directorial debut" and "It is based on the 2008 novel by Joe Dunthorne, and is an international co-production between the United Kingdom and the United States". These are currently not mentioned in the main body and hence are unsourced. Can you please write them in? As otherwise this goes against WP:NOR. "Alex Turner, the frontman of English rock band Arctic Monkeys, signed onto the film to compose the soundtrack" is also not completely clear in this section.
- "Author Virginia Heath" - What is she an author of? As to me this seems like she is the author of the novel, which is not the case
- "Paige reflected on the filming experience fondly" - Can you please say when she said this?
- Could you please clarify if the six original songs were especially written for the film?
- "the soundtrack has been compared" - Could you please say by who? (E.g. fans/critics)
Release:
- "was played out of competition" - Could you please clarify what this means?
Critical reception:
- No comments here, well done! If you have any other reviews though please do add them as it would strengthen this section :)
Once the following have been addressed, I will do a source spotcheck and hopefully pass the article. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any assistance! :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 18:05, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

- Hey @Gavetheman555: I am so sorry for my lateness. Thank you so much for the changes, they look great and has improved the article! I did want to ask though, I am a bit confused by this sentence: "After persuading his roommate, a film student, to apply. Ayoade quickly began developing the script of Submarine, before showing it to the boss of Warp Films."
- I have spotchecked Sources #2, #4, #28, #29 and #39. I am passing this, well done! You should definitely nominate it for DYK :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 06:25, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
