Bias
This article is biased in the environmental section. The sources cited are mostly biased, and they are improperly referenced. Very dubious. 66.27.221.208 (talk) 10:23, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Issues re: "List of Hawaii Plantations, Sugar Mill & Growers" Section
I understand that the section and its large table is primarily sourced from the 'Portuguese Family History Collections Hawaii' website. Echoing the above "Additional Planters and Managers" comment on this talk page, I think that the information as presented may be incomplete. Specifically, per UH's HSPA Plantation Archives, there is no record of C. Brewer & Co. owning or operating the Kekaha Sugar Mill Co. or the Kekaha Sugar Company. The Big Five connection to those operations is Amfac's purchase of KSC in 1975.
Moreover, the list does not provide temporally-specific affiliation data. The Kekaha Sugar Mill Co. was subsumed by the Kekaha Sugar Company in 1900. As the text of the article notes, "many plantations were renamed when sold to or merged with another company." This page should be updated for specificity regarding the changing structures (and eventual conglomeration) of different plantations. Marking the section with a Refimprove tag until edits can be made. Ggonnemm (talk) 03:20, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
