The Sully piston air compressors produced at the Sullair Northern California branch at 1618 Doolittle drive late 1970's - early 1989's.
Rich Jacobsen was contracted to build the Sully air compressor line there in San Leandro. He would assembled air compressors ranging from 3 hp to 30 hp all piston reciprocating pumps. The pumps were basically Ingersoll Rand copies that were manufactured by Oholiab in Israel . Rich "packaged" a compressor custom to what the customer ordered including pump hp size, tank size and either horizontal or vertical, motor size and quality ( open drip proof, TEFC or Coastguard approved. He then would install and wire a magnetic starter , low oil switch , air cooled after cooler and any other required item. Once built and tested he would wipe it down with paint thinner or other cleaner then mask off and paint. I would remove the masking tape once dry then palletize and build a crate around it for shipment. ~2026-48053-7 (talk) 19:02, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
