Hi Sammi, I will be reviewing this article over the next few days. In case this review isn't the best, its because this is my second GAN review. JuniperChill (talk) 12:48, 6 July 2025 (UTC)

Overall, I would say the article almost meets the GACR, I just pointed out a few changes that should be done before I can close and promote the article. Since its midnight for me, I'll be back after nine hours time. JuniperChill (talk) 23:09, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
Everything is done except the revenue display in the infobox. That is a Wikidata question because that's where that data is being pulled. In any event, {{Infobox company}} states, Wiki-link the currency unit and indicate country for common currency units like "dollar"., so a country mention is actually warranted by convention. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 01:44, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
Ah yeah, something new to learn. I didn't know that infoboxes can pull other data from Wikidata. I thought its a central hub regarding if the article has a subject in another language. Also, you forgot about capitalising and linking to West Texas. At least this review isn't as challenging as my first one, which was with someone new to GAN and didn't need a mentor. But anyway, I'm moving onto the spot-check phase and other criteria now. Keep in mind that I also have a nomination ongoing at Talk:A9 dualling project/GA2. The review looks good, @JuniperChill, and I fixed that last issue. One comment: [3] and [4] should be visible to you. I have many GANs pending (another tranche of 20 nominations is coming as soon as this is passed), but they have lots of newspaper articles in them. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 19:19, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
Ok, I can now say that I can see source [3] and that its good to go, however, for [4], idk where to find the text that supports Nearly from its start, it operated at a surplus, unusual for a listener-supported radio stations. JuniperChill (talk) 21:52, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
Actually, I found it: "It was successful at fundraising, having operating at the black almost at its inception - nearly unheard of among listener-supported stations". So I can now finally promote the article to GA! JuniperChill (talk) 22:53, 7 July 2025 (UTC)

Prose

Infobox

  • I would replace United States dollar with just $ since it's obvious what (dollar) currency is used and I've never heard the full name before (or its because I'm from the UK).

Lead

  • Capitalise and link to West Texas as the linked article capitalises 'West' throughout.
  • KPAC began broadcasting November 7, 1982 - add 'on' before the month

History>KPAC: Filling the classical void

  •  All good

History>KSTX: NPR comes to San Antonio

  • Though that group withdrew its application three months later. a competing applicant again arose in October 1975 - replace the full stop with a comma by the looks of it
  • A broadly defined "bilingual" format - does it need quote marks?

History>Texas Public Radio: Two stations for San Antonio

  •  All good

History>Expansion beyond San Antonio

  •  All good

History>Alameda Theater relocation

  • Shorten both mentions of Texas Public Radio to TPR
    • Didn't do this in the first one since NPR is also in the sentence, but I did it in the other one.

Funding

  • TPR had total revenue of $6.011 million. I think 'a' should be added somewhere

Spot-check

I am checking 6/45 sources according to this revision.

  • 3 could only verify the first part so AGF on the rest since the rest is behind a paywall (see below for why) verified
  • 4 also AGF partially verified
  • 29 OK
  • 35 AGF (paywalled source)
  • 39 OK
  • 42 OK

I find it hard to read a physical newspaper because I almost never read them (much less a physical newspaper that's been photocopied) since I'm part of the generation that grew up with the internet. And if you can, feel free to quote a relevant part of it. JuniperChill (talk) 16:04, 7 July 2025 (UTC)

And taking a look at Earwig's copyvio tool finds no copyright violations, at just 7.4%, so I'm giving that a pass. JuniperChill (talk) 16:10, 7 July 2025 (UTC)

Other criteria

3 and 4

Pass It's safe to say that this article is broad in its coverage and is neutral, so I can pass both criteria 3 and 4. JuniperChill (talk) 16:15, 7 July 2025 (UTC)

5 and 6

Pass I can see that it definitely meets the stable criteria, as there hasn't been any edit wars or content disputes since at least 2021, after looking at 50 revisions. I also see that the two images are free to use, and are relevant to the article, along with the map at the bottom. JuniperChill (talk) 23:09, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
